In this guide, I’ll show you how to transfer your Chrome bookmarks to another browser. Today, we’ll be moving them to the Brave browser.
Step 1: Export Your Chrome Bookmarks
First, open Chrome, where you have a bunch of bookmarks you’d like to export.
- Click on the three dots icon in the top-right corner of the window.
- Under Bookmarks and Lists, click Bookmark Manager.
- Click the three dots icon in the Bookmark Manager and choose Export Bookmarks.
- Save the file to a convenient location, like your Desktop.
Step 2: Import Your Bookmarks into Brave
Now, close Chrome and open your new browser. In this case, I’m switching to Brave.
- Click on the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
- Under Bookmarks and Lists, click Import Bookmarks and Settings.
- In the dropdown menu, select Bookmarks HTML File and click Choose File.
- Navigate to the file you just exported from Chrome, select it, and click Open.
And that’s it!
Step 3: Confirm the Transfer
Now, if you check your bookmarks bar, you’ll see that all your icons and bookmarks have successfully transferred to the new browser.
This process will be similar for any other browser you choose to switch to.
